What age is StoryLoom for?+
StoryLoom is made for children aged 4–7. With big text, pictures, and simple choices, even kids who can't read yet can enjoy it together with a parent.
Can my child sign up or pay on their own?+
No. Children can only use StoryLoom through a profile under a parent's account. Sign-up, payments, and settings changes can only be done by a parent.
How do the stories work?+
Your child picks a character and makes a choice in every scene, and the story changes with each choice. Those choices add up to values like courage, wisdom, and kindness.
Are there ads or external links on my child's screen?+
None at all. No ads, external links, or open chat ever appear on your child's screen. They stay safely inside the story.
Does an AI talk to my child in real time?+
No. Every story is pre-reviewed before it reaches your child. We never expose children to live, AI-generated conversation.
What data do you collect about my child?+
Only a child's name (or nickname), used to personalize the stories. We collect nothing else beyond what's necessary, following COPPA and GDPR-K principles.
How does the read-aloud narration work?+
Each story comes with warm, narrator-style audio. If a story has no audio file, your device's built-in text-to-speech reads it instead. You can always turn the sound off and read it aloud yourself.
What devices can I use it on?+
StoryLoom runs right in your web browser — nothing to install. It works on phones, tablets, and computers, and it's especially comfortable on a tablet for little readers.
Is the photo avatar feature safe for my child?+
Yes. A child's photo is processed only with a parent's explicit consent, solely to create the avatar, and you can have the original photo deleted immediately after generation. Parents can request deletion of the photo and avatar at any time.
